Bye Bye Yaya
I must forewarn you that this is a yaya rant.

Yaya J has been with us for almost 1 year and she is our first yaya. I must say that I'm quite impressed since she studied "caregiving" and can speak english so I immediately hired her. She's into kids, she knows nursery rhymes, a lot of songs and she's very patient with my dear Hermione (atleast when I'm there, I'm not sure now if she is really that nice afterall), that made me increased her salary twice within one year span. Let alone my being so friendly with her.

But I started noticing that she is disorganized, no matter how many times I, my husband and MIL would remind her to keep Hermione's things in order I would find her things everywhere in the house and at times too dirty for my little girl's use. Of course, cleanliness is non-negotiable but I tried to convince myself and dear hubby that as long as she takes care of my little girl - I can just ignore this side of her.

But, she is getting worse than ever and its getting on my nerves especially that my little darling's health is being compromised. Also, she is beginning to be arrogant and would always reason out whenever we would remind her of our preference for things to be organized as much as possible. We always end up doing her duties. So last Sunday,  I was really so pissed that she can't find Hermione's meds for the diaper rash which should have been treated earlier if only she's been observant enough to notice the rashes so I can't help that my patience finally ran out and I yelled at her, telling her that this is the main reason why I want things to be organized and she has a lot of time to do it since we're the one taking care of our tod whenever we are at home and we delegated washing and ironing of the little girl's clothes to our maid, so she could focus on Hermione alone.

The next morning I learned that she had plans of leaving us (maybe because of the incident) but of course she had a different reason when I talked to her, she told me that she has to take care of her sick mother (all of a sudden, her mom is too sickie), anyways, I didn't bother talking her out of it, I told her that if she really  needs to go back to the province because of her mom, I'm okay with that and I would find a suitable replacement before her last day which is on the 15th. The night after our talk, she told my SIL that she just got carried away and didn't want to leave, but since I'm not asking her to stay, she doesn't have any choice now but to leave and stand by her announcement, however she wanted to stay up to the end of the month, since she has cash advances to pay for. Maybe she was banking on that I would persuade or even beg her to stay if she would tell me that she's leaving, because I need her. Well, she must be dreaming! For me - no body is indispensable.

And I wouldn't compromise my child's health, especially now that I'm beginning to realize how sloppy she is in doing her job, I don't mind paying for 2 yayas if it will provide me the assurance I need when it comes to my princess' caring needs, that is the  main reason I'm working hard afterall, to provide my little girl with the best in everything.

I dunno, no matter how much you treat them good, yayas nowadays have this attitude that they are indispensable, gone are the days where loyalty is innate. So goodbye to her, and I sincerely hope she'll find a better employer.
