DENGUE ALERT
Who would think that a little mosquito can do such harm on people? I hate mosquitoes! In fact, hubby and I launched a war against them, we bought every anti-mosquito we can find in the market after being confined in the hospital and being sick of Dengue for more than a week.

Hubby went sickie on Wednesday, complaining about his aching joints, I took care of him, feeding him, giving him meds and massages. Good thing I was able to buy the Braun Thermoscan making temp monitoring a breeze. By Thursday, my MIL reported that our household help also has fever with matching joint pains. So I single-handedly took care of them plus the little girl. I even managed to cook comfort foods and clean the house while I look after them. The next day, I feel sick too, but I needed to be a "super mom" so I just shrug it off and went on with my duties. Hubby told me to sleep early since he can sense that I'm not really feeling well so I took his suggestion and left Hermione to him. The next day, hubby told me that I have been feverish the whole night so I took a shower and took him, me and the little girl to Medical City for check-up. The peds recommended Loraped and Ambroxol for the little girl, while my CBC showed that I had viral infection and was recommended to take antibiotics for the next 3 days. The hubby was suspected to have Dengue since his platelet count was below the normal range, he was asked to go back the next day for another CBC. We trooped down to the lab for another CBC, this time I also brought our household help for CBC and Urinalysis. Our household help has UTI and was prescribed antibiotics for a week. My platelet count is going down but hubby's latest platelet count went up by a notch but the doctor suggested we have another round of CBC just to make sure. So off we go the next day for another blood extraction, my platelet count is still going down but hubby's went down to 84. The doctor told us we should be confined for Dengue, but I insisted that I would have my hubby first confined before me because I needed to make the necessary arrangements for the little girl. So we went home to get some things and went to Marikina Valley Hospital (surely not our hospital of choice, but its nearer and since we will both be confined, we might as well choose a place that our parents can easily go to), we went to the ER, the doctor confirmed that hubby should be confined immediately, there was no room available
except for the ward. After settling things for hubby, I went home to prepare Hermione's things, I phoned my parents earlier telling them that I will be depositing the little girl  for days because we will be hospitalized. Then I texted my brother to accompany me in the hospital. I was not feeling well and I think the Dengue is getting its tall on me, so at 6AM the next day, I asked the 2 household help to get up so we can go to our paternal house while I can still drive.

I was feeling worst, because I wasn't able to take care of my hubby and little girl, being too sick! I hate it. Good thing, my brother went with me, he arranged my confinement while I hang around hubby's room because I was chilling at the ER. I really hate that hospital! So days went, our platelet count still going down, hubby was discharged on Thursday afternoon after his CBC showed that his platelet count is steadily increasing - Thank God, I thought he'll be needing blood transfusion. While I was discharged on Sat evening after pleading to the doctor to let me out since my platelet count has been steadily climbing towards the normal range. I was so excited to go home to see my darling daughter. God I missed her so much. I'm just glad that she was not bitten by that nasty little bug.

The next few days were spent going back to the doctor for follow-up check ups and CBCs. By Tuesday afternoon, we we're 100% cured from Dengue.

Hubby immediately went to the hardware store and bought a lot of anti-mosquito gadgets, from electrical mosquito killer, to bug spray, to anti-mosquito band. Name it, we have it! That's how we hate mosquitoes.
