Hermione at 2
We celebrated Hermione's 2nd Birthday not as originally planned, I made a reservation at our favorite resto - Cafe Kapitan, but opted to have a simple celebration at home. Cafe Kapitan can only accommodate us up to 7:30 PM and since I'm expecting some late comers, I just dialed the ever-dependable CCME for some dinner food. I also ordered our favorite Pancit Sotanghon and all sorts of merienda from Pichi-Pichi, Puto, BBQ, Sapin-Sapin and Cathedral Window for the afternoon. For dinner, I ordered Beef Caldereta, Lechon Manok, Fresh Lumpia, Beef Morcon, Rellenong Bangus, Veggies with Quail Eggs + Shrimp, Chicken Relleno and my mom cooked Shrimp with Garlic and Butter.

For the cake, I ordered a 12 x 16 chocolate cake from Red Ribbon 2 days ahead, I was thinking of ordering from Alex Franco but I was not ready to pay P4K for just an 18-inch round cake. Maybe on her 18th birthday...

We celebrated it with our families and of course with her daddy, thanks to Skype! He was able to join the celebration. In as much as he wanted to be here in the country for her little girl's celebration, he unwillingly stayed in SG so he can attend to some job-hunting stuff.

I'm a very happy mommy and surprised how time really flies, I can't believe she's already 2. Thank you Lord for the wonderful 2 years, I have never been happier. I love you my darling Hermione...

ABC
Last night while I'm having dinner (Tomato Soup with Basil and Garlic Pesto Bread), I was enjoying how Hermione gets so frustrated and would throw tantrums all because her ref magnet ABCs will not pile up just as she would want it to be. She can be so impatient at times, I'm just hoping that later in life this would still change or we will have a hard time parenting a strong-willed and "impatient" girl specially in her teens, my my my, it would definitely drive us crazy.

Just to make her feel good, I asked her new yaya to get the building blocks which was a hand-me-down from her cousins so she could layer it instead of the ref magnet letters. She also knows a few letters: A,S,O, J, C, M and even repeat MAMAMAMAMA when I would sing it. I hope she would be able to recite the whole alphabet soon.

Bad Yaya
Hermione bid her nanny goodbye last Saturday, I finally let her go - after learning how irresponsible she's been in taking care of my little girl. I have been holding myself for several months to replace her. I convinced myself that she truly cares for my tod, and that reason definitely outweigh her undesirable traits. But she is nothing but a two-faced liar, pretending to be a very loving nanny to Hermione when I'm around but turns the opposite as soon as I'm gone.

I will not go into details of how irresponsible she was and all her false-pretenses, all I can say is its enough for me to kick her out of the house though she repeatedly asked for another chance to redeem herself. But my answer was a big NO. No way - I will not risk my only child's welfare in her hands again.

My poor little darling - the price I have to pay for being a working  mom. Now I ask myself, is it really worth it?
