GM Diet
It's the1st day of my attempt to go on General Motors (GM) diet, as of this time, I'm still on it, hehe. I had two small fruit platters, but hubby had to stop by the middle of the day since he's turning a little pale, we weren't able to pack loads of fruits cause our inventory just came in today. GM diet is guaranteed to shed off 10 lbs. if you're faithful enough to follow strictly the 7-day diet. Here's the full details, in case you're interested:

General Motors: Weight Loss Diet Program

The following diet and health program was developed for employees and dependents of General Motors, Inc. and is intended for their exclusive use. This program was developed in conjunction with a grant from U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. It was field tested at the Johns Hopkins Research Centre and was approved for distribution by the Board of Directors, General Motors Corp. at a general meeting on August 15, 1985. General Motors Corp. wholly endorses this program and is making it available to all employees and families. This program will be available at all General Motors Food Service Facilities. It is management's intention to facilitate a wellness and fitness program for everyone.

This program is designed for a target weight loss of 10-17 lbs per week. It will also improve your attitudes and emotions because of its cleansing systematic effects.

The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the food eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in caloric value.

This plan can be used as often as you like without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter because you will be lighter by at least 10 lbs. You will have an abundance of energy and an improved disposition.

During the first seven days you must abstain from all alcohol. You must drink 10 glasses of water each day.

Day One. All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want. It is strongly suggested that you consume lots of melons the first day. Especially watermelon and a loupe. If you limit your fruit consumption to melons, your chances of losing three lbs. on first day are very good.

Day Two. All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the amount or type. For your complex carbohydrate, you will start day two with a large baked potato for breakfast. You may top the potato with one pat of butter.

Day Three. A mixture of fruits and vegetables of your choice. Any amount, any quantity. No bananas yet. No potatoes today.

Day Four. Bananas and milk. Today you will eat as many as eight bananas and drink three glasses of milk. This will be combined with the special soup which may be eaten in limited quantities.

Day Five. Today is feast day. You will eat beef and tomatoes. Eat two 10 oz. portions of lean beef. Hamburger is OK. Combine this with six whole tomatoes. On day five you must increase your water intake by one quart. This is to cleanse your system of the uric acid you will be producing.

Day Six. Beef and vegetables. Today you may eat an unlimited amount of beef and vegetables. Eat to your hearts content.

Day Seven. Today your food intake will consist of brown rice, fruit juices and all the vegetables you care to consume.

Tomorrow morning you will be 10-17 lbs. lighter than one week ago. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again. You may repeat this program as often as you like, however, it is suggested that you are allowed two glasses of white wine in addition to the instructions on the program. You may substitute champagne for white wine. Under no circumstances are you to drink any other alcoholic beverages with the exception of beer which is allowed. Any liquor (bourbon, vodka, rum) is forbidden. Cream drinks are especially forbidden. You may have an occasional cordial such as creme de menthe or schnapps, but you must always limit yourself to two drinks. If you wine, drink only wine that day. If you have beer, drink only beer that day, etc. Alcohol adds empty calories to your diet. However, after the first week it will help your digestion and settle your stomach.

G.M.'S Wonder Soup
The following soup is intended as a supplement to your diet. It can be eaten any time of the day in virtually unlimited quantities. You are encouraged to consume large quantities of this soup.

28 oz, Water, 6 Large Onions, 2 Green Peppers, Whole Tomatoes (fresh or canned), 1 Head Cabbage, 1 Bunch Celery, 4 Envelopes Lipton Onion Soup Mix, Herbs and Flavouring as desired.

Additional Comments:
Vegetables as may be taken in the form of a salad if desired. No dressing except malt, white or wine vinegar, squeezed lemon, garlic, herbs. No more than one tea spoon of oil.

You have been given a recipe for the WONDER SOUP which can be eaten in unlimited quantities. This soup is a supplement while you are on the program and it should be a pleasure to eat. Not everyone likes cabbage, green peppers, calory etc. This recipe is not inflexible. You may substitute vegetables according to your taste. You may add any vegetables you like: asparagus, peas, corn, turnips, green beans, cauliflower, etc. Try to stay away from beans (lima, pinto, kidney, etc.), however, because they tend to be high in calories even though they are very good for you.

Beverages you may consume while on the program :

1. Water (flavoured with lemon/lime if desired).
2. Club Soda is OK.
3. Black Coffee. No cream or cream substitute. No sugar or sweetness.
4. Black Tea = Herb or Leaf.
5. Absolutely nothing else except the fruit juices which are part of day seven. No fruit juices before day seven.

How and Why It Works

Day One, you are preparing your system for the upcoming programme. Your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits. Fruits are nature's perfect food. They provide everything you could possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety.

Day Two, starts with a fix of complex carbo-hydrates coupled with an oil dose. This is taken in the morning for energy and balance. The rest of day two consists of vegetables which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fibre.

Day Three, eliminates the potato because you get your carbohydrates from the fruits. You system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds. You will still have cravings which should start to diminish by day four.

Day Four, bananas, milk and soup sound the strangest and least desirable. You're in for a surprise. You probably will not eat all the bananas allowed. But they are there for the potassium you have lost and the sodium you may have missed the past three days. You will notice a definite loss of desire for sweets. You will be surprised how easy this day will go.

Day Five, Beef and tomatoes. The beef is for iron and proteins, the tomatoes are for digestion and fibre. Lots and lots of water purifies your system. You should notice colourless urine today. Your allowance calls for the equivalent of five "quarter ponders". Do not feel you have to eat all this beef. You must eat the six tomatoes.

Day Six, is similar to day five, Iron and proteins from beef, Vitamins and fibre from vegetables. By now your system is in a total weight loss inclination. There should be a noticeable difference in the way you look today, compared to day one.

Day Seven, finished off the program like a good cigar used to finish off Victorian meals, except much healthier. You have your system under control and it should thank you for the flushing and cleaning you just gave it.

Hope I'll have the heart to do it, wish me luck people.

My weekend
Again, I got confused this morning, thinking that I didn't have to wake up early when I realized that its not Saturday yet. I was in the office last Saturday for an important meeting with a client and to supervise the testing activity for one of our system we need to launch this May. That is the reason why I was kinda disoriented.

Come Sunday, I let Hermione swam realizing the bathing suit that I bought her is still too big for her. I'm contemplating on buying a new one, but still I have to wait for my SIL since she bought the little girl with not just one but four bathing suits for our Bora Trip. So I guess, its best to wait...

After her morning nap (which extended up until the afternoon), we visited her lola, lolo and titos. And went straight to the mall to buy the little girl some toys from Toys R Us and was also glad to grab some cutie dresses from Gingersnaps. We played with her for an hour before finally putting her to sleep. I love love my Sunday.

But nah! I can't possibly spend $235 for a pair of shoes! Or maybe?!

Not Guilty
Its been a bloody hell of a week! I'm exhausted, having to be judged before even given a chance to take a step to the stand. Did I say that being a lawyer was a childhood dream of mine?

As much as I despise the idea of being made to look like stupid and careless, I find myself enjoying having to help put up a good defense for us to justify our actions back then. Building a defense case is really an exhilarating experience specially if you know that its a winning one because its founded on truth and nothing but the truth. I can almost taste the verdict: NOT GUILTY!

To the woman I look upon to, we're gonna win this battle, just like we always do. I can't ask you to stay, it would be so selfish of me to do that, because I know, you will be happier wherever you may go. We will still see each other again, and I hope I will have the pleasure of working with you again.

Office War
My worklife sucks! big time! I'm just glad that Hermione is here to keep me smiling all throughout this hellish week. Bad business decision, ass-saving, finger-pointing, office politics, powerplay - I witnessed it all.

When everything is not going out well, I just remind myself that I have been in far more complicated situation and I made it through. They say that life's challenges brings out the best or the worst in every person, but to me everyone has a choice - and I chose to walk out as a better person.

Manic Monday...
They say that whatever it is you start your monday with, will be true for the rest of the week. Today, I got a glimpse of what's going to be for the rest of the week - and I don't like what I saw.

Anyway, I don't have any choice don't I? I just have to make the most of it and try to let it as less stressful as possible.

As I was trying to squeeze some "me" time before sleeping by chatting with my SIL while blogging, the little girl rose up from her sleep, maybe she missed playing with us this morning  since she was still snoozing when we left for office. As tired as I am, I manage to play and put her back to sleep. That was the best way to end my monday.

Yaya and Maid-less
Since yaya is not here, I had the grand time with the little girl. Her fever went off, but then the meds continued round the clock as prescribed by her pedia. She had her last dose at 3:30PM. She also had a massage, hope that would help. Let's see, I hope she will be saved from another ER trip.

I made macaroni soup for her lunch. At breakfast, she had raisin bonnet brought by her lolo when they visited yesterday. She also had corn and a spoon of yogurt. I'm just glad that she is not passing up on milk, good thing she is on Pediasure.

Then when yaya arrived, I prepared the husband's food - all fruits and veggies to be taken to office tomorrow (he is on GM diet) since I need to be at the office by 8AM for a meeting, I decided to work on my wifey chores early on. Its been nearly 3 weeks since our maid went AWOL, good thing my MIL was able to hire the replacement today, she will be reporting on Tuesday. So bye bye house chores.

Summer Fever
My plan of going on shopping spree will just have to wait, the little girl has fever on and off since last night and I have to be here for her. I intend to start my GM diet today but decided not to push through with it because I will need all the strength I could gather because yaya is taking her off starting this afternoon and with the bebe being sick today, I can't afford to skip on some energy food. I will go on partial GM instead, it will give me time to adjust in time for holy week, the perfect time to go on full GM diet.

I hope my little dalaga will be okay soon. She seems active though, maybe its the heat.

TGIF
It has been a busy week for me, my stress level is going up, I don't think the Philip Stein's anti-stress technology is working on me - I'm thinking of getting a Phiten bracelet to help me through. Well, since I was too beat up, I diverted again to retail therapy, bad, bad, bad me.

Its not for me, but for the little girl. I got her easi-vent Tommee Tippee bottles and teats, I decided to retire her  Avent bottles which leaks like crazy, I think its the main reason for turning Hermione to Babyzilla for a couple of nights now, making me more sleep-deprived than ever.

I was also able to get the little girl some nice tops and jeans from Gingersnaps, I'm halfly done with her summer collection! Tomorrow, its going to be my turn to shop! My brothers will be picking me up at home since the husband has to stay with the little girl while I'm gone.

Hermione @ 18 months
We celebrated Hermione's 18th month here on earth last Sunday. We had Decadent Cake from Cake2Go and I cooked (yes, you read it right - I can cook) Baked Ziti. At 18 months...

Hermione is quite a chatter, she babbles a lot, although she can manage to speak a few tagalog words like patos (for shoes), gatas (for milk), and taas (for upstairs). She communicates well through actions, she can express what she wants by pulling my arms or pointing to objects. Her attention span improved tremendously, she can now focus on whatever is playing on the screen for hours (lovely time for me and yaya). Her motor development skill is remakable, she is a runner, jumper and a climber rolled into one.

She is a very sweet young lady, who loves to be cuddled by mommy and daddy. After waking up, the first thing she would do is kiss and hug me. Although the kiss is sound-less, it makes my heart melts. During the night, she would roll between us so we could alternately hug her while she is sleeping. Whenever she sees us, she would outstretch her arms automatically for a hug.

My little princess is becoming a copycat lately, loves to replicate our actions, she would brush her hair and put lotion to her little hands and spread it in her arms and legs. She loves splashing water in her face, maybe she's feeling the summer too. Usually when she gets to hold a hankie, she would automatically blow her nose or wipe her face with a towel. She knows how to brush her teeth and wear and take off her clothes (with assistance of course).

She loves being on camera. And bat her eyelashes upon hearing "beautiful eyes".  She wants to be appreciated on how well she eats by clapping our hands everytime she takes a bite, in that way, she will finish her food, that's why mommy always ends up with red sore hands. Her appetite has sky-rocketed this past month, which made me extremely happy, seeing that she is slowly gaining weight. She is quite slim (sorry I was hoping for a fat little child), but her pedia assured me that her weight is within the normal range while her height is in above average category. So no worries.

Thank you Hermione for making my life happier. I love you my chinita.

New Ride...
I'm glad that my father has finally got himself a new ride. After ditching his Jeep Wagon, he travelled with my brother's car for sometime. He's extremely pleased that he gets to drive his own baby. He is also making progress on his plan to renovate our family house, which I'm excited about since my room will be extended, and Hermione can play comfortably during our stay there.

Keep Secreting Tay! I told you it works!

Busy Saturday...
My schedule was overflowing yesterday. I  woke a little disoriented after a bad dream or shall I say it was a good one hehe, well, I dreamt that I resigned from work  - I say I was disoriented cause I can't seem to fit which day it was, I thought I was late for work then I remembered that its Saturday, I couldn't possibly missed that - it's my favorite day of the week.

I woke up at 7AM, played, fed and bathed Hermione, at 10AM, we were on our way to St.Luke's, we arrived just in time as Baby Sophie (Joyce' little girl) is finishing their appointment with our pedia. We opted for Hermione to have the last dose of IPD vaccine, we initially agreed to have the MMR earlier than IPD with the measles outspread but got a little confused thinking that the pedia is just trying to double the dosage (we're not into double-dosing, since vaccines has negative sides too). After reviewing again the Immunization Chart with the doctor, it came to us that the doctor is just advancing the MMR vaccine in lieu of the scare. So next month, we'll have it plus the Vit A drops, by May she will have her last shot of Hepa-A. Then her legs and our pockets will be free for a while since the next vacs are scheduled when she turns 2.  Also, next visit, we will plan with the doctor what meds to bring for our Bora Trip, just to be on the safe side.

Then we dropped by for Hermione's cake before heading to Don Henrico's where we had lunch with the family. We ordered baked ziti, supreme pizza, fish sticks, ceasar salad and of course buffalo wings. Hermione was not in her best mood skipping her usual morning nap, but boy, she can turn the resto upside down. I'm glad we got to spend some time with my family, I missed them and they missed the little girl, of course my parents keeps on grumbling at me (in between meals) for not bringing their first apo to them regularly. Then the husband took home the bebe with her yaya while I went shopping with the family. Then E followed back and we went to the bank to stash some moolah into the little girl's account before we went shopping for him and the baby, I also got shoes for yaya. As for me, I left the mall empty-handed. Poor me.

Bes...
As calendared, me and my bestfriend went to the spa for a relaxing massage and of course for some bonding. I rarely get to spend time with my bestfriend since we're really busy having to work in the same company where chit chat time is an impossible thing (atleast for her). Some of our friends would wonder how are we that limited in the chicka catergory given that we are just a floor apart, well...work is demanding, I'm in Operations while she is in Finance. I deliver the eggs and she accounts for it, tough jobs eh?

Bes has been my bestfriend since we we're in the 4th grade, I dunno how we became best buddy given our differences, she's the quiet-type while I'm loud, she loves working with numbers while I hate the sight of it, and she's all too nice while I can be very intimidating.Yes, we're from different species and even if we don't get to see or speak with each other for ages, we know deep inside our hearts that we have each other. I guess our friendship has evolved in a way from being exclusive to allowing ourselves to grow, share and learn from others - that way, we become a better person.

Super Mom
Being a mom changed me in so many ways...

Before I would always spend all my time at work, yes, I could say that I was workaholic then, I would come in early and be the last one to leave the office building, I'm always itching to go to the office even during weekends. Hell, what was I thinking then?!?

But after giving birth to my little princess, I'm always trying to strike a balance between work and personal life. Its a struggle.

I have only an average of 5 hours snooze daily, so what? I'm not a sleeper, its such a waste of time, if only I could go on days without looking like a zombie then I would totally skip the whole slumbering idea. I try to wake up early even if I have to leave late for work just to squeeze in some together-time with the little girl in the morning.  I do this voluntarily now since she learned that poking mommy's eyes is really effective if she wants me up with her by 5 or 6AM. At night, she usually sleeps at 7PM, the time I go off from work - after dinner, shower and some TV time, I would sit in front of my laptop and try to work on some deadlines. Then I would blog-hop, take a peek at FB and burn the night watching whatever TV series is available for my viewing pleasure. I have been switching from Greys Anatomy, Private Practice, 24, Dr. House, Leverage and The Good Wife. These keep me sane after a hard day's work.

Weekends are spent either in the office (for some can't wait activities), hospital (for the regular well baby check ups and vaccine shots), grocery trips (usually goes 3x a week, I dunno I simply love wheeling the cart around), malling (my favorite), parent visits, birthdays/weddings and movie marathon. All these juggling makes my life more exciting.

At work, I always keep tabs on my deadlines and deliver results but still my family holds the number one spot in my priority list. Being a mom is hard enough, what more as a working mom. So to all the moms out there, hang in there...

Congratulations!
After a series of meetings, we we're finally back in the office at 6PM where our lady boss broke the good news, my friend who happened to be my senior operations officer will be promoted and will soon be heading a new team, an offshoot of my department. Since one of our projects is too big, it deserves a dedicated department. Its official now since the big boss approved the new org struc. So I guess, congratulations is in order...Mace, I've always believe in you...I hope you will continue to strive and be the best that you can be.

I'm really happy when someone from my team gets promoted, I feel a sense of pride knowing that I have been instrumental in training them. I usually get bored of my job after 3 years or so, I always look for new challenges. That is the main reason I train my people well, so that when its time for me to leave, there will be someone to take my place - its called succession planning in the corporate world.

I'm glad that I have a very hardworking and dedicated team. I'm not easy to deal with, I can be the devil-wears-prada kinda manager at times, because I always push everyone in my team to excel, to go beyond their limits, because I know they can do better.

Student Driver...

Life is too short. I know it after several near-death experiences. That's why I intend to make the most of it, by learning - a lifetime student, yes I'ld like the sound of that. I promise to acquire a new skill every year. For this year, I will take driving lessons.

Yes, after a couple of attempts and getting an automatic car - I still can't get myself  to drive on a busy street and in broad daylight. I can drive but only if I own the road, during the night when vehicles is a rare commodity. I dunno, everytime I will give driving a try, something would come up that would stop me from pursuing it. Like, my first try  - I had an accident (but I wasn't the driver then)  after that I became preggy. Hmnnn, what is it in driving....?

But this time, I intend to do it! I'll be shopping around for driving schools that would give us the best deals. Yes, I'm not alone in this, my bestfriend will be enrolling with me and once more - we're back to being students!

Hermione's Day
I intentionally restrained myself from going out. I spent the whole sunday with the family since I wanted to spend time with my little girl. I bathed, put her to sleep and played with her. At 6PM, I was dead tired, my asthma kicking in after she threw tantrums here and there with me saying no to her hiking up and down the stairs. I had to bribed her with the Hi-5 episodes just to calm her down. I salute her nanny for being so patient with her, she is one little person not easy to deal with. Maybe we should consider giving the nanny another raise, she's been very good in taking care of the little princess. So I guess, its only fair.

Actually, when Hermione was in the hospital, I witnessed how my baby can be really so demanding being hyper active. That's why I made sure to make yaya's birthday extra special. Yaya Jane is not perfect, because nobody is, but we can see that she truly cares for Hermione and that makes her the best nanny.

Summer

The heat is on! As I'm preparing for our much-awaited 7-day Bora Trip, I got myself a new sunglasses from CK for quite a steal. I already have a brown one so I preferred black this time. The next 2 weekends reads: shopping in my calendar, again for the trip. I still need aqua shoes and tons of shorts and sundresses for our little dalaga. Swimming shorts for the husband and a new bathing suit for me plus other stuff (I'm still trying to shorten the list hehe), which reminds me, I  need to hit the threadmill. I'm gonna ask the husband to set it up again, I had it stored when I  learned I was preggy.  I have to really cutback those preggy pounds that I gained, I'm running out of time.

Bare Mineral Makeup

Bare Mineral Makeup. I've been dying to get my hands on these, unfortunately they only ship BE in US or Canada, I was able to get myself a US-based address through Citibank's Borderlinx. But, decided not to push through with the orders. Why? the shipping cost alone is enough to bleed me dry. Maybe one of my overseas-based wedding clients will be kind enough to carry these for me...or I heard there are online re-sellers, maybe I should try checking them out. For now, I have no other choice than to keep using my current stash - the camera-ready full coverage foundation with SPF 15 from Smashbox and Cinema Secrets concealer. I love love Cinema Secrets, I've been using it for more than a decade.

Some "me" time...

I had another "me" time last night as I spent 3 hours leisurely pampering myself to a Foot Reflex and Swedish Body Massage after that really relaxing steam bath and jacuzzi. I know...I know...I just had one last week, but for months I didn't get any so I guess I'm just catching up...I wasn't able to book my favorite therapist so I settled with the next senior therapist available, it went well but not as as good as with Josie. I'll book her in advance next week, yeah, it will be a weekly treat for  myself. Maybe next week my bestfriend can join me.

Today, I headed to my favorite salon for my regular manicure and pedicure. This is really non-negotiable. I'm not into hot oils, precission haircut, and other salon services. I rarely have bad hair day, so why spend some moolah trying to make my hair look good when its good enough (atleast for me). But when it comes to nails, its a different story. I love having my nails done, every 2 weeks if my schedule permits. I discovered this nearby salon - Metro, they have really good manicurist, and the service is great. The place is nothing compared to Nail-a-holics or Dashing Diva, but its decent. And they have Orly Nail Lacouer, I super love Orly, it doesn't give that yellowish after-effect, doesn't chip off easily and have a wide color selection.

So you know, I'm not spoiling myself that much- Like today...I'm working, yes, on a Saturday, I'm not fretting, I just want to say that I work hard...but I play hard.

The Good Wife
Last night dear hubby finally gave in to my request of letting me watch a new TV series despite of me feeling sick - The Good Wife.

Emmy Award winner Juliana Margulies (“ER”) stars as Alicia Florrick, a woman who has always stood by her politician husband through thick and thin. You know those woman who you see standing next to the latest corrupt public figure as they give their apologies via press conference? That’s Alicia, who watches her world collapse when her husband Peter (Chris Noth) suffers a very public sex and political scandal. With Peter in jail and no one left to support their family, Alicia decides to return to the work force and pursue her original career as a defense attorney, taking a job at a prestigious Chicago law firm. An old friend and firm partner gives Alicia a chance and “The Good Wife” becomes an unusual legal show, featuring a lead character who has been out of practice for years but also has a major public persona.

The promos have pounded the infidelity of Noth’s character into the ground but it is a very minor part of the overall show. It’s the impact of his dalliance with a prostitute that drives the series not the scandal itself. Of course, public sex scandals involving politicians like John Edwards, Mark Sanford, and Eliot Spitzer makes that the hook to draw in the audience, but the show will live or die on what’s there after the tones of “Stand By Your Man” have faded from memory.

Less than ten minutes into the pilot, Alicia is moving on with her life, returning to legal practice where she’s joined by a great ensemble cast (who should really at least get a cameo in the commercials) including Josh Charles (“Sports Night”) and the always-excellent Christine Baranski. The young kids at the firm look at Alicia as a doormat, a dinosaur, or both, and Alicia gets tossed into boring pro bono case. Of course, she makes the most of it.

Margulies has been a great TV presence for years and her combination of intellectual grit and genuine sexiness drives “The Good Wife”. In just one episode, she’s completely believable, not falling into the melodramatic trap that a lot of other actresses would have allowed to overtake the show. Margulies takes this complex, interesting character and makes her completely three-dimensional. Even with good supporting work by Charles, Baranski, and Noth (who it’s hinted will be back in a much bigger role very soon), “The Good Wife” belongs to Margulies and she nails one of the most fascinating new characters of the season.

and I'm excited to get hold of the remaining series he downloaded.

Another trip to the ER...
I'm feeling a little rundown lately. My migraine is giving me a hard time coupled with stomach discomfort and nausea. I voluntarily had myself checked at St. Luke's ER yesterday for fear of having Rota Virus since some officemates of mine were reportedly infected. So I called up the husband when I heard the news to drive me to the hospital since the little girl skipped the Rota Virus shot when she was 6 months old and its driving me mad thinking I may be carrying it around and to the house...to my little darling baby.

We arrived at the hospital by 7PM, the BP monitor and thermometer read normal. They had me CBC'd and tried to put me on IV to manage my dehydration. However, after 2 failed attempts and blowing up my veins, I talked to the doctor to give me oral medication instead. The nurse kept justifying to me that my veins are really thin, to hell with him - I have been put on IV many times and no one complained about my veins. Lucky him, I don't want to put him in trouble so I kept my mouth shut while rolling my eyes. After more than 2 hours of being held hostage in the hospital bed while being  monitored closely, my CBC and other tests came back normal so they gave me my discharge order and prescription meds. Then we went home to be greeted by a warm arozcaldo specially made by my MIL - just for me.

Pedia...
Last Saturday we headed back to St.Luke's Medical Center for Hermione's follow-up check up, I'm beginning to hate the drive to the hospital. In a span of 1-1/2 years, we hopped from one pedia to another. And yet, we can't find a single pedia that holds clinic in nearby hospitals. So, we were left with no choice, but to endure the 1 hour drive to St.Luke's, if we're lucky enough with no traffic to worsen the hour-long trip.

Good thing I'm happy with my baby's latest pedia, I was half-hearted when I first met her, she didn't impressed me at all.I dunno, I guess I have high standards when it comes to medical professionals, I would always go for with Fellow level (my OB-Gyne as well as my Pulmo and even my Derma are all fellow of their respective specialization).  However, when Hermione was confined for 4 days, this lovely Pops Fernandez-look alike pedia would always visit her everyday even during Sunday, when I saw her concerned-looking face that Sunday morning - she won me over. Now, I super love her, no wonder my SIL has nothing but praises for her. I just wish she will have more clients based in the eastern side for her to think about holding clinic other than St.Luke's - say Marikina Valley for instance or may be Medical City.

Relaxing Friday Night...
I've been deprived of spa for sometime now, because of the busy work schedule and being preggy and all that. Last friday night, while everybody was busy partying, hubby and I went to a spa for some pampering.

I had Excellent Spa Treatment (read: Body Scrub,Body Massage and Facial). Its a 2-1/2 hour treatment which for a badly beaten soldier like me is like nothing but pure heaven. I skipped the usual shower, sauna and jacuzzi since I was in a hurry to get home for the little bebe and been talking on the phone for almost 30 minutes trying to finalize some legal matters with the other company we're partnering with for a very important project. I just finished up making some business calls when my first therapist arrived the room, I didn't bother to take a shower since I will be scrub off anyway. The Body Scrub left my skin smooth and silky. The salt combined with the lemon-scented oil  was a sure-fire way to expoliate your skin. After an hour, my overly-tensed body enjoyed an hour of swedish massage, my therapist was really good. It was really quite an exhilarating experience that made my stress level totally gone to zero. Lastly, my face was treated to a nourishing facial of Pevonia Botanica products. I'm not fond of having facials in any other place than Skin Perfect. But, I noticed that it did wonders on my skin. My skin was kinda soft and blushingly beautiful even the day after.

While the husband had a massage. We had to stop at McDonalds after the Spa session since we were really starving, we were fighting the urge to eat, but we just don't have the will and the devilish Cheeseburger and Fries won in the end. Gosh...summer is here already and I haven't shed a single pound.
